"How Pastel Colors Hide Dangerous Truths: The Normalization of the Threat"
Share
In a world where reality blurs with perception, we find ourselves as passive spectators to a spectacle of injustice and hidden threats. My painting "HA?" challenges one of the most contradictory aspects of our lives—the normalization of the threat.
A pink gun, transformed into a seemingly decorative object, is aimed directly at a zebra—a symbol of uniqueness and individuality. The zebra, appearing innocent and naïve, responds with a defiant "HA?", accepting the pastel-colored threat as if it were a promise of joy and hope.
This is the paradox of our times: weapons of destruction disguised as harmless accessories, veiled under a fantasy of sparkles and unicorns. Serious threats are trivialized, perceived as harmless amidst a cosmetic facade. We live in a world where appearance distorts reality, where what once provoked resistance now evokes indifference.
How have we allowed such threats, cloaked in soothing pastel colors, to become acceptable?
Why do we tolerate societal acquiescence to phenomena that demand our resistance?
How can we reclaim our perception and renew our response to the world around us?
The painting "HA?" compels us to reflect and act. It challenges the reader to reject the clichés of dangerous 'normality' and to see beyond the facade. The pink gun is not a toy, and the zebra is not a caricature—this is the harsh reality we face.
It is time to take action, to resist indifference, and to confront the paradoxes of our era. Let us restore our vision and take responsibility for shaping a reality that values truth over illusion.
