Returning to Essence: Celebrating My Birthday with the Colors of the Zebra
Share
Today is my birthday, and instead of seeking glitter and glamour, I have decided to return to the basics with insights from nature, much like the zebra with its black and white stripes. When I observe these colors, I see not just forms and shades, but deep messages that are part of our spirituality and essence as human beings.
The colors black and white invite us to contemplate the relationship between giving and receiving in our lives. In the natural world, every color carries profound significance. Black, often perceived as a color of absence or lack, in reality, symbolizes protection and security. It absorbs all around it, providing shelter and a personal, intimate space that we all need. In contrast, white represents absolute giving, openness, and innocence—the encompassing light that accepts and radiates positivity and simplicity.
On this special day, I realize that each of us has the ability to embrace these two colors in our lives—to give and receive equally. We are required to find the right balance between privacy and exposure, between the need to stay protected and the need to be open and giving.
In addition to marking this special day, I also want to delve deeper into the spiritual impacts of these colors and how they reflect the dynamics between internal processes and interpersonal relationships in our lives. I invite you to think about how you can incorporate more of the black and white within you into a harmony that enriches your personal world and the environment around you.
